I want to write this blog not because I see myself as extremely 'beautiful,' but because I have been through many unbeautiful stages throughout my life and I want to share the secrets that helped me get out of those ruts!
As you all know the basis of beautiful makeup come from a beautiful canvas, your complexion. I just want to start out with my daily face care routine:
1st: Every morning I roll out of bed and head to the bathroom with a bar of Safeguard soap. Yes, you read correctly. A bar of soap, but this bar isn't just a ANY bar. Safeguard is an anti-bacterial soap. Do you know what causes acne? Bacteria. If you can kill the bacteria on the surface of your skin you should lessen or completely get rid of breakouts!
2nd: I think apply a moisturizer. Right now I am using Mary-Kay Timewise, it keeps the moisture in without feeling heavy. This step is very important even if you have oily skin. If your skin gets dry it will just produce more oil, which it what we were fighting in the first place! I would recommend getting a moisturizer with sunscreen built in, that way you don't have to put that on separately. You want to wear sunscreen to protect from sun damage and aging.
Now for my nightly routine.
1st: I get all the eye makeup off my eyes. I use the Mary-Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. I little goes along way.
2nd: I use a cleanser with makeup remover (or that will get the makeup off.) Start with warm water to open the pores, then cooler water to rinse to close them up.
3rd: I use a toner after washing my face, using a toner insures that all the oils and impurities are gone! Also it will shrink your pores.
4th: If I have an breakouts I will change the makeup removing cleanser to one with salicylic acid in it to try and tone those down. I may even apply some salicylic acid cream directly to the beak out if it is very bad.
And that's it. That's all I do. The trick is to remain consistent. Nothing works if you only do it once or twice. It may take weeks or even months for a routine to start to work.
I hope this helps you!
xoxo and beauty blessings
